It’s the fructose. The July 2008 issue of the Journal of Nutrition showed how fructose was quickly converted to fat in the liver, whereas other sugars were more readily used by the body shortly after they are consumed - they give you an energy boost.
The Corn Industry has spent millions of dollars trying to make High Fructose Corn Syrup look good - but pay attention to the facts. Next time someone asks you what’s so bad about HFCS, you can tell them that fructose is more readily converted to fat than other sugars.
